Words for someone with a disability

Hey everyone

I thought it would be cool to share some words for others in the same boat as us - maybe they are newly diagnosed - maybe they are having a bad today - maybe they struggled a bit more than normal - maybe a friend or family member has just been diagnosed - or maybe they are just looking for answers at the moment going through the testing stages

Any hints, tips, words of encouragement, postive affirmations or anything you else that you think might help drop them in below!

Your disability doesn't define you.You are a strong person worthy of respect and love and you can achieve your goals. Some days will be harder than others but you need to remember, you are not alone in this.Don't give up.

Disability doesn't mean inability, even if people make us believe so.

you are more than your disability. don't let that define you or stop you from accomplishing things!

@Kallie112358 just because others sometimes don't understand, it doesn't mean that your disabilities are not real. Trust yourself and and remember that those other people don't live in your body and mind. It may be difficult for them to understand. You are still validated in what you know about yourself.

disability is not a job... it is harder than a job... you can't take the weekend or go on vacation and get away from a disability... many disabilities never give you a day off. Imagine going decades without a day off... not even a lunch hour... not 15 minute break... how would that wear on you? Drive you crazy? People without disabilities should be aware of that when judging a disabled person... it takes an awful lot of strength to keep going through decades of constant pressures from disabilities... many people would give up. Here's to everyone who keeps fighting the good fight!...yes
