What's your disability?
I have a learning disability.
What is the most difficult part of your disability?
For me its being slow when my brain sometimes either moves toooo fast or not fast enough and I have to take longer on stuff.
I have Spina bifida
@sunnyShip2345, ditto! What level is yours? Where does your sensation/movement end?
@PositiveThinker0725 I think I'm an like last level 5? I have the severe kind but can walk
@PositiveThinker0725 and have hydrocephalus with a shunt
I experienced a C1C2 spinal cord injury at birth. However, despite having a high injury level, I've defeated the medical odds and can do almost anything. except have kitten babies
I have Grave's disease. I'm not sure if it technically counts as a "disability", but it is a chronic illness that impedes on my daily functioning. I am very physically weak because of it and I can get winded just from climbing a single flight of stairs. I also have trouble concentrating in class/getting work done as a result and my grades are suffering.
@placidShade. Yes it is a disability, it interfere with quality of life and I am curious, do you take meds for ? I have Graves disease also, but I have been remission for a little over a year, the weakness is definitely a struggle.
@jr50
Thanks for asking! Yes, I take methamazole and a beta blocker for my heart. I'm not in remission yet but I am starting to feel better, though I am still pretty weak.
+i had mva in 1983 broke back, paralysed...

I've osteogenesis imperfecta type 1
I have Adhd, learning disability, developmental disability, mental retardation, and Ptsd.
I don't really like to be discriminated about my disabilities but I change it into a lesson for the person who is telling me what I cant do.

I suffer from fibromyalgia. I found out exactly a year ago but have been dealing with the pain for almost three years now. At first I felt like my life was over because how could I ever be a normal person while being in so much pain? Today I still struggle like I will all my life but I try to keep a positive mind about it because if I don't I will end up giving up and I will be letting fibro win. So yeah, keep fighting.
@spooniepixie I'm glad you're coping better than when first dealing with it. I hope you continue to find things that make it less of a struggle!
@AffyAvo thank you! I hope you're doing alright and aren't in (too much) pain. If fibro taught me anything is that we should live every day as a whole and not think about much in the future. Live in the moment and enjoy the spoons you have and be ready for your pain at each moment without planning too much ahead. Our health can change so drastically that we won't have time to do this or do that without feeling the horrors of the pain.
I have a main diagnosis of Bipolar 1 with psychosis. i also am living with PTSD and panic disorder. i have degenerative disc disease and have had two of my vertebrae in my neck and upper back replaced with cadaver bone.i will need to replace two more in 2018. i also have chronic migraines, and lastly one of my legs is about 1 inch longer than the other causing hip, ankle and lower spine problems.
Can i just say how wonderful it is to see a subcommunity dedicated to this topic. i don't often go through the litany of issues i have but i feel like i will be comfortable here. there are a lot of days when i feel like a beat up car with missing or mismatched parts that really should be totaled. so i'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and contribute to the group.
best to all,
aza
