What is the most difficult part of your disability?

Hi everyone! I have hemiplegic migraines, a rare form of migraine with physical, stroke-like symptoms. At best, my left side (my most affected side) is just a little weak. At worst, I can collapse and be rendered unable to move or speak at all. On good days I can wear block heels, on bad days I use a cane, and on really bad days I stay in bed and use a walker around the house.

I also have endometriosis (ask me about my diagnosis story for more info), and I've been struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and lately some social anxiety. Never been formally diagnosed with a mental illness, but now I'm ready to start treating it before it makes my physical ailments worse.

I suffer from AMPS (Childhood Fibromylagia), Severe IBS-A, a weak immune system and chronic migraines with Amaurosis fugax, which is a temporary loss of vision in an eye due to my migraines. PCOS, and suspected endometriosis (but due to lack of proper health insurance coverage, I don't have access to a gynecologist.)

@RubberDaisies I have both endometriosis and chronic migraines in addition to my hemiplegic migraines. From my experience, the only person that was able to get me my endo diagnosis AND help me manage my pain was an endo specialist. It was completely out of pocket and super expensive, but it has been unbelievably helpful in my ability to lead a normal-ish life. I believe the Endometriosis Association has info on specialists in every state. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’œ
