Completed Depression Course
Hey, I'm a listener here. I've been talking to members since quite a while, but I used to very rarely accept the general request under the 'depression' tag, since I often had no idea what to say, and I usually had to refer the person to someone else.
This was especially problematic, since some of my friends had suffered, and even my mom is possibly currently suffering from mild depression, and I had no idea how to help anyone, or even understand them.
Today, I actually took the time and completed the listener course on depression, and it was amazing. Now, I'll be able to chat, and hopefully help people who're depressed, and even more importantly (to me), I can help people I know so much better.
So the amazing thing is, I never imagined that learning, and working on 7 cups would have helped me understand and help people better in real life. One of my friends even mentioned it to me, saying I had changed a little bit, and I cared now. I love that change.
Thank you to you all, for making and being a part of this amazing site.
@PoseidonsTrident18,
Thank you for sharing this! I was unsure about becoming a listener here at 7cups, because I might not be good enough, and I suffer from depression, but helping people and being there for them actually helps me cope with it. I don't know if that's a good enough reason. What is your thought about this?

Hey Skies :) Good to hear you've been considering being a listener (or already are one, I'm unsure). I don't see why there should even be a reason for you helping people, and its a big plus that it helps you too! You can always avoid chat requests involving depression, or pass them onto someone else, if that's an uncomfortable topic for you.
You seem great though, I think everyone would benefit from you being a listener, even you yourself :D
@PoseidonsTrident18, thank you for your encouragement!
You are awesome. The listeners are so helpful. Thanks for being one.
@crimsonBranch4384 Hey Crimson, this was a really nice thing to hear, thank you :)
You are most welcome. Keep doing great things. People like you make life a lot better.
