Im truly sorry to hear that youre going through this. But you have asked for help! Thats a great indicator that you are on the right path!

Whats strange with depression is that you usually mustnt give in to your feelings like I dont feel like doing ___ or I wont because Im so tired/dont care/____. So try not to give in these feelings unless theres a logical reason behind them like (you ran for the last 30min) Im tired of running so Ill stop for now - thats ok. If you have something to study or thought of going outside, the best thing is to do it. Try not to delay it or procastrinate because your depression will try to talk you out of it. The more time you give the depression to do its thing, the better the chances itll succeed.

When bad thoughts pop in your mind, just look at them (dont assign any meaning to them), like if I get the thought Im so stupid for doing this, I just look at it - its a thought of me being stupid, not a fact that im stupid. Even if you feel that you are bad, thats not a fact that youre bad.*

Its really helpful to write things like these down and next to them the facts. These thoughts might have stemmed from the core beliefs depression has imposed on you or made more powerful. These can be about you, the world or other people... Toxic core beliefs are usually something like: Im worthless, The world is terrible and Nobody cares about me. When you find them you can challenge them by writing them and reasons why they arent true. It might be something totally small, but write it down anyway - anything that is against the belief prooves that its not so true.

The thoughts stemming from these beliefs can be extremely convincing and are usually powered by skewed thinking patterns. Take a look at these thinking errors: *https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/what-mentally-strong-people-dont-do/201501/10-thinking-errors-will-crush-your-mental-strength. Depression sometimes doesnt just make you ignore the positive, but it turns it into negative.

Im sure you will make it through depression. When my depression was really influencing me, I always used to think that people just say stuff like You can do it. for the sake of saying something. That wasnt and isnt true. They told me that, because I really could do it. Therefore: You can do it! You can all do it!

And 2 quotes that are so true:

An idle mind is the devil's workshop. devil

When youre going through hell, keep going - W. Churchill.

And we know who the devil is here, right? wink
