Question regarding long term depression

So I've been going through depression about 7-10 years now. I've been doing ok-ish for a bit, but recently I've started backtracking again. I've also noticed some new problems, mainly a very bad reluctance and almost fear of going hang out with friends or to some other social place. I did a little bit of research and found out that that's a few of the symptoms of social anxiety, and I'm wondering: is it possible for long term depression to cause the development of new phsycological problems?

I would strongly guess that it is. For example: Severe social anxiety can lead to stuttering

I'm not a doctor but I've lived with depression and anxiety for years and I personally feel that they go hand in hand in my life. My anxiety keeps me from going out quite often and that lowers my mood, and at my times my depression keeps me from going out. So I would think that it's definetely possible for one ailment to cause another, as it does cause alterations in the way you think and your brain chemistry.

@John04 I'm no doctor but yes I believe so. Living with the symptoms causes extra problems and I think that can develop into other things, and quite often anxiety and depression go hand in hand

@John04

Well, did you spend more time isolated because of your depression? If yes, then it could be a factor. You're not that used to be around people anymore.

@goldenPalm71 I have, I won't lie, but a lot of that's just been due to a massive lack of energy. Maybe that caused something to form, but idk for sure. I know that I also have an unreasonable amount of paranoia on top of this, so maybe that's it?

@John04 are you trying to say that you have a hard time trusting people?

@John04 Yes, I believe it can be a contributing factor to other Psychological Problems. However as others have said I am not a doctor and therefore can not be 100% sure. It may be beneficial to you to go and seek support from a doctor or therpaist about your situation. Espically if you are already seeing a doctor about your depression as they would be able to tell you more about the symptoms :)
