Ongoing Support

SweetPea321 February 27th, 2023

I have been placed on something called the restricted recipient program because my insurance thinks that I visited the ER too many times/unnecessarily during the pandemic. I had like so many months of wheezing and illness and the meds they gave me weren't working. Anyway...I've been sick and wheezing recently and couldn't get in to see my doctor so it was suggested that I go to the urgent care. I went and the xray showed that I have pneumonia. Now I have to wait for my doctor to approve my meds because the urgent care doctor isn't on the list of prescribers. So many hoops to jump through just to get the meds I need to feel better. I'm so frustrated.

Thank you, Vase and Willow.

My Mama passed away around 5 this morning.

I am so, so sorry to hear. I know that you were aware that this was coming, but that doesn't make it easier.

Your talking to your mom yesterday takes on much more meaning now. You got a chance to be with her right near the end.

Sending strength as you navigate the next few days and weeks. @SweetPea321

Thank you, Vase. Yes, I'm so glad that I visited her the day before. Even though she wasn't awake, she did give a couple faint "Yeah" responses when I talked to her. My Aunt Linda (Mama's younger sister) went to the funeral home with me today. We had a good talk there and back. It was so nice to see her. And I got to see Mama one more time before she gets cremated. She was laying there so peaceful as I bent down to gently hug her and kiss her forehead. It was sad, but good to say goodbye.

I'm tired and I look forward to bed tonight.

How are you?

It is always good to realize that your network is much wider than you usually imagine. I think that is the small gift that funerals and death provide - bringing everyone else together within a web of care.

I am glad that you got to say goodbye in person today. That too is a blessing.

But it is all so, so draining. Give yourself lots of time to rest in the next few days. @SweetPea321

I am so sorry about the grieving for your mom. Sending strength and peace. It takes time. It is okay not to have a memorial service. Maybe you could create an internet spot where people could post good stories and memories of her. That can be a memorial service too.

Don't focus too much on your daughter and whether she is liking the camp or not. She is absorbing some of your energy and sadness. You chose a good camp and it is enough that she is busy and you are able to focus on other things while she is there.

I could be better, but let us focus on you right now. You are going through more stuff than me.
