Lacking motivation
Hi everyone!
I'm new here so I though I'll create a new post. I moved to Canada about 2 years ago for university. It's not been easy since then. I don't have any "real" friends, I don't go out much, basically no social life. Recently, I just could not get through all the classes because I didn't see an objective or didn't had the motivation to do anything. Almost nothing seems to be of interest or fun anymore. But I always tell myself it's not a big deal, in a way I always undermine all those feelings realizing that there are a lot worse things out there which I feel is my strength to some point but a weakness as well.
Two years back, I was very "normal" person. It's just not falling into place. Nothing is, maybe nothing does i guess...
Hi noora, I'm sorry to hear that :( I'm currently studying at uni too (but in Australia). I have times where I feel lonely and lack motivation, so I'm here to wish you luck!! And let you know that you can always message me if you're feeling bored and/or lonely and maybe we can both motivate each other hahaha I hope it gets better xoxo
Hey noora, I'm a univ student as well. A postgrad student, at that. I am struggling to adapt and adjust myself as well. Its super hard when you have no one around to support you, but you know what, maybe you can go and join any clubs or groups that you have an interest in. Finding support from here is a great way as well to motivate yoursefl! I hope you know that you're not alone in the struggle, and you can definitely find yourself back! Lemme know if you need to talk, I'd gladly listen to you :)
School has a terrible way of crushing motivation. But it's good to find some people in real life or on the Internet who are similar to you and you can all complain about not having motivation together. I find that to be some weird comfort
I am completing my second semester of university right now. After pushing hard in the first semester I am so done both mentally and physically. My body needs a break but I have tests and assignments throughout the next two weeks and I have NO motivation to study for them.
@noora22 Wow, i completely understand and i see this post was 2015 and how are you doing now in 2019? how did all of that go?
@noora22
Hello. I only read the starting post, so excuse me if you added something else and I didn't see it, but I will get your answer for the first post.
So.
These feelings of you have no motivation or no interest in things you used to do, with the new circumstances, are real? Because, have you thought about you overthinking? Thinking too much lately and not acting? Living in your thoughts? Is it maybe because your thoughts are stopping your from trying? This is my case currently, so that's what I wanted to talk about. To see if this is a case for you too. Because it may be. Because I was feeling the same thing. That I'm immobilized I can't do anything anymore, nothing is worth trying, or nothing is good anymore. Having no hope.
So this may be your case. If so, you have to let go of thinking too much. Let go this and start doing without thinking. Make a list of the things you are wanting to do today and do them without thinking about why are you doing them or how and all these questions in your head.im gonna do the same. Act like a robot. I think that too much of negative thoughts paralyzes body and mind. So I think that's your case. Try it and tell me. I will try too.
So true @SummerNightDream
