Asking for help

I did something important today. I went to my mentor (at our schools we are divided into smaller groups and one of the teachers is the mentor of that group) and I told him about how I've been feeling. He is very supportive and told me he was glad I talked about it. I finally dared to tell my mom as well and she said she'll go to the doctor with me and see where it goes.

Honestly, in my head I thought they wouldn't understand and brush it off as "teenager problems". Luckily I was wrong. I now hope I'll get the help I need.

If you are procrastinating asking help like I was: please please please talk about it to someone. I haven't even gotten help yet and it's already such a relief.

Yes, no-one wants you to be ill, or is going to be happy at the news, but they all feel better off knowing.

And showing you that they care for you by helping sounds very validating for you too.
