What's your support system?

EmmaE May 2nd, 2022

hi hi everyone and welcome to our very first post for our may event, positive mental health!

an amazing and important way to improve our mental health is to ensure we have a support system to be there for us both in the good times and the bad.

so, what's your support system?

Ooh already started with May event hehe. That's such a great question, Emma. Looking forward to hear what support system everyone has. ❤

To anyone feeling confused and hesitant to answer, you're certainly not alone, and support systems can be build over time as well, for now, you're here, a significant part of the 7 cups community and this is too, your support system. ❤

@Sunisshiningandsoareyou

I really don’t have a solid support system. I’m reluctant to form one because everyone has their own life issues.

@intuitiveSailboat4560 There’s a lot of truth in what you say. A lot of people will be more consumed with their own issues and not good support. That’s just my experience, I want to be realistic. But there are some people who it would actually be like a compliment for them and make them feel good to be able to help you.

Definitely my mentor and fellow admins and leaders! It's great to have people rooting for you as you continue to make progress ❤️

@EmmaE really just my husband. I didn’t have anyone for my entire life until I met him, and that still haunts me now with many side effects. I just want anyone reading this to know, please don’t give up hope. Keep being yourself, even if you get rejected over and over. Don’t lose yourself trying to make other people happy. Keep looking, and someone will appreciate you for who you are and what you have to offer. All your pain may not go away, but that person will be worth the wait. You will both have a greater appreciation for each other than you ever could have imagined with those other tries. Hope this will be relevant for someone out there.

Hey, Emma! This is such a beautifulllllll question, I gotta say. Having a really tight support group is really vital, so that you can have people there for you during your good and bad days.

My support system is definitely my closest friendsies here on 7 Cups! They have always been there for me, and I feel so so sooooo fortunate to have them in my life ❤️❤️❤️

I'm going to tag them here because they really deserve the shout-out: @Angelx28 @Sunisshiningandsoareyou @emotionalTalker2260 @Everlee @coldbreeze00 @mytwistedsoul 🤗 ❤️

@EmmaE

My partner is my #1 support system, followed closely by friends, my shrink and some colleagues, boss included.

@EmmaE I believe that a good and effective support system can help someone tremendously to improve their mental health! It can literally be whatever they want! It doesn't have to be something huge! A Support System can be based on our hobbies and interests and focus on those things! I really like going for a walk. Some fresh air always help me to relax and think about my journey!

@EmmaE

I don't really have a support system. I might be able to say my mom and my son, but soon the support of my mom will leave, and my son...it's just too much to put on him.

❤️ Thank you for this amazing post! Definitely my best friend. She calms me down in no time and makes the storm bearable. I don´t know what I´d do without her. She completes me and I admire her more and more every day. I´m her biggest fan, and I didn´t know loving someone like that was even possible ❤️

❤️ Thank you for your extraordinary work! You are radiant ❤️

Unfortunately, I have no real support system. I have my pop, who helps and backs me when there are struggles with caring for my mother, but I don't put much on him myself because he's going thru the same as I am and I am his only support. I have friends that will listen for a few minutes, but quickly turn the chat to their own issues.

I seem to be the one everyone comes to for support, but is expected to not have any need for support myself. So, it's just me, slogging through my own things as best I can, while helping everyone else get through their bumps and obstacles.
