A self-love thread: What are 3 qualities that you love about yourself?
Let's get some self-love going on in here!
Let's list a minimum of 3 qualities that you love about yourself! If you want to list more - by all means! And feel free to go into detail, elaborating on the qualities if you are in the mood for that.
It's so important to practice self-compassion. When we demonstrate a healthy level of self-love, we are then able to spread that positivity outwards to others genuinely.
Much love everyone!

I love my ambition: Without it, I wouldn't be where I am in a developmental psychology PhD program. I am on track to achieve my dream job and I wouldn't have been if I didn't push myself like I have been doing.
I love my perserverance: With out it, I might have given up when things got difficult (depression, grief, anxiety, breakup).
I love my new attitude: I have made strides to improve myself where I can to improve my own quality of life. I am working on my mental health, I am practicing selfcare, I am reframing self-deprecating comments. I am trying to be more positive in general and I think it's slowly making a difference. I am hopeful for the future.
This is a great exercise! Three things I love about myself:
1) I am resilient and have overcome a lot of obstacles
2) I am good at helping people sort through their shit
3) Pretty rad style

I can't even think of one thing.
It's really hard to think of positive sides of yourself.
But first, I like all the love I can give to the people around me. Second I love my drive to not give up, third I really like my stubborn side, that gives me the drive.
It's a great exercise to do once in a while - if not every day.

The things I love about myself:
1. I persist. Although sometimes I feel burdened and disturbed, I never give up on life.
2. I constantly try to improve.
3. I am academically intelligent, as said by my university professors and my peers.

This is so difficult to me because I have this strong idea planted in my brain that I can't believe positive things about myself. Only others can, if they will, believe good things about me. I feel so anxious over positive statements about myself. That's why I started hand writing every positive thing people say about me. They said it, I can write it, so it's as if I can make it mine and STICK IT IN MY FREAK HEAD.
So. I am very empathetic. This is almost the only thing I'm sure about. And I like it because it allows me to better understand people and sometimes I can help them feel better. And I love this. I love my empathy.
Ok. Here comes the hard stuff I don't even believe in. Where's the journal where I write compliments? I can't do this alone.
Ok, many people have said I'm very creative, and I partially believe this. I'd like to be more creative, I love creativity. Let's try to say it out loud: I LOVE MY CREATIVITY. Darn I didn't think that would be SO hard. I'm trying not to hyperventilate and I'm feeling dizzy. Dissociation-like dizzy.
Now I have 3 options I guess. Write something that I don't believe and think that's not true anyway, risk to do a step that's longer than my leg and compromise my progress to write something and try to truly believe it... or stop right there. 4th option could be writing something in the form of "people have said that", although it's not the exercise's purpose.
I think I'll stop here for now.
It's hard for me to think of things I love about myself. I look into the mirror and hate what I see on any given day, but I'll try to think of some things.
I love my ability to change into what/who I'm needed. I can be listening for those that need an ear, a shoulder to cry on, a distraction from problem, and a partier/drinker if that's all you need.
I like my freckles, they cover my entire face and even my shoulders. I find them cute and I enjoy them.
I got two, everything else I think of feels like a lie haha..
1.) I love my strength
2.) I love that I love to help people
3.) I love my humor and making other people laugh

1. I work super hard. I have worked two 12 hour night shifts a week at a hospital thorughout the enirety of nursing school and get mostly A's to B+'s which I am super proud of.
2. I try to think of others before myself.
3. I like that I can play the piano and understand sports conversations with my brothers and friends.
