What to do...

hematite43 January 15th

It's all just empty. I look forward into the future and just see the grey fog.

I don't know what to do about that.

Nothing seems interesting or appealing or rewarding.

It's all just sort of like why the *** should I care?

The therapy isn't changing this, nor are the antidepressants.

So what?

@hematite43 Are there external conditions that seem unchangeable or is it all just internal? What kind of therapist are you seeing? How long have you been in therapy?

@FlatenedByLife

It's a mix of both. There are some external conditions that are unfixable. With that being the case, why bother doing anything?

In terms of therapy, it's been 8 months, I think. My therapist is master degree trained MFT. It's been very insightful, but I don't feel like doing anything with those insights.

@hematite43 I think eight months is enough time to tell if a particular therapist is helpful. Have you tried or considered CBT therapist? It’s helpful for depression and usually way more effective than antidepressants.

So you’re working with an MFT therapist and getting insights but they are not helpful? Does your therapist seem to understand your family situation? Have you told the therapist how you’re feeling about the therapy?
