@Drifterbynature my emotional support cat provides me with emotional support when times are rough. I recently separated from my ex and I work from home so sometimes in the day when I'm feeling lonely I just pick her up and give her a really big hug. It helps so much. Even at night we will just play around and I'll pet her and it feels like everything is going be okay.

@tgordon21 Appreciate you sharing 👍. It sounds like she's a positive and comforting presence in your life. The responses I've read on this thread seem to show alot of emotional support from our pets. And I think that's especially important when we have less contact with the humans in our lives. Sometimes just having a calming presence of a loving pet seems to bring many of us comfort and joy.

@Drifterbynature I love my pet cat, Bunga. She offers me comfort when I’ve had a rough day. She sleeps with me and tolerates me calling her random names, she’s so sweet. I’ve almost always have had a pet growing up so it’s rather strange when I don’t have one. Like im missing an invisible limb. But bunga is probably one of my personal favorites, she’s just so chill and cute and fluffy and so so dramatic. I love her.

@Drifterbynature I miss having a dog. When I was a kid my cocker spaniel was my best friend. We recently tried to have a husky and everything went wrong. I’m hopeful that one day soon I will be able to have a pet that doesn’t destroy my house

Thanks for sharing. Thanks nice that you had that as a child. That's a real shame about your husky. I've had various concerns myself about whether a dog might be too much work for me. Which sucks, cuz I'd love a dog. But as I feel I need abit more calm and abit less stress in my life at present, I'm leaning more towards a cat. I wouldn't wanna have to go through having to give it up if it became too much work/stress. I think it's important to do what's right for you.
