I honestly don't know what I should recommend to you but let me try.

These are some things that might surprise you on your first trip to Maldives:

The official language is Dhivehi, and throughout the country many different dialects are used to speak the language. But don't worry, most of the Maldivians did study English as a second language so it won't be hard communicating

The capital of the Maldives is one of the worlds most densely populated cities so the whole city is packed with hundreds of thousands of people with lots of buildings.

Then let's see about some of the very few things you can do here:

Surfing:Ask any serious surfer about their top 10 dream destinations and chances are the Maldives makes the list. The region is world-renowned for its countless picture-perfect waves that break over shallow coral reefs, and the surf charter expeditions that chase swells across the archipelago.

Snorkeling

White sandy beaches:The tropical heat is not to be underestimated, so ensure that your holiday packing list includes the tropical essentials like sunscreen, zinc, aloe vera, a hat and a beach cover up.

And many more.

Although I'm a Maldivian, it's a bit hard for me to tell what you can expect here, there are two different worlds out here.

First is the luxurious world famous resorts. They would surely give you a high quality experience. But is very expensive.

The second is the island life. The simple and peaceful life we; the islanders live. The experience might not be luxurious but It'll a great learning experience about the culture and traditions. And to be honest this experience will not cost much.

Google has much more information than I could tell, but some seems to fake so read them out and if you are visiting Maldives then just hit me up to make sure if it is true or not.

Aha,the weather. It's interesting.

Maldives is characterized by a warm and humid tropical monsoon climate with an annual mean temperature of 28°C. The islands experience little variation in temperatures throughout the year. The seasonal cycle is strongest in the north recording an average maximum temperature of around 29.3°C just prior to the onset of the southwest monsoons (April-May) and an average minimum temperature of around 27.4°C prior to the onset of the northeast monsoons (December-January). The southern equatorial regions experience precipitation throughout the year and do not experience a very significant dry spell related to the northeast monsoons.

We don't have seasons like winter and spring. We've two monsoons. The sunny and rainy monsoon to say literally.

Therefore,the weather variation is very low,the lowest it can get is 26°C and the higher might be 35°C. The weather is always very comfy, it's never too hot or too cold, just the perfect optimum temperature always.

If to talk about traditions, that's a lot for me to write. I don't know where to start from. The earliest signs of humans were seen from 2500 years ago,so that's most of the time used as the age of Maldives. But the real age varies from 4000-5000 years ago.May seem a lot,but very young compared to other counties. I believe it can be longer than that too, as Maldives was formed millions of years ago. Maybe this is not what you asked for 😄

Music and Dance in Maldives

Both music and dance form an integral part of the culture of Maldives. Both of these are heavily influenced by North Indian styles of music and dance. The Indian film industry plays an essential role, with Bollywood movies and music being popular amongst a lot of people. Old Hindi songs still remain very popular and actually are an inspiration for many Maldivian songs too! The traditional dances of Maldives also draw strong inspiration from the Northern Indian classical dance form of Kathak.

A popular instrument in the Maldives is the bulbul tarang. Another type of very famous music and dance performances using the drums and incorporating their beat known as Bodu Beru (Big Drum) is said to have North-African roots.
