Write about someone who is extremely dear to you 💓😄

If I hold you dear,

I need you to hold me harmless.

My evil twin watches reruns of "good parts",

Alone in a dark theater.

Whereas I have to keep moving,

Seeing things in shades of gray...


But you show up dressed in vibrant red,

With the blackest lips,

That reminds me of invisible ice,

Where you can't see where you'll slip.


All signs point to you being my femme fatale,

But maybe I can keep slipping without falling,

You bring color and liveliness,

Where it's otherwise becoming monotonous monochrome.

What, it's been a year now? Two years?

But it feels like it's been forever

Within the day we sat next to each other in class, I wanted to be her friend.

Within the week I'd met her, we had just clicked.

Within the month we'd talked, we were closer than I'd been with anyone in a long time

Within the year we'd become friends, something a little more

Yes, there have been times I thought maybe it wouldn't work, scared to lose her

But she's made it through every single rough patch

And I've gotten to watch her grow 

She is such a blessing in my life

The sweetest, warmest, and safest person I know

I don't think I believed in soulmates

But she's given me a second chance

And I don't want to let her go this time

So, I'll love her every moment, hold her dear

Lovely special girl, yes, you!

My little nerd

Please stay in my life, as long as you want to you are welcome here

"How long has it been?"

I don't know how to reply

It's been 387 days

Since I never said goodbye

I"m afraid to let him go

So I take him with me as I go

No matter where I stand,

I imagine he's holding my hand

He's right there beside me

Telling me to set him free

But I can't.

And I won't.

He left too soon,

So I look up at the moon

I see his smile

And I know I'll be okay for a while
