@SoulfullyAButterfly Thank you for your enormous dedication for this course. However, personally, I feel like the coursework for the last two weeks is too heavy. The article alone would cause about 1 week. Maybe it would be more feasible to spread this over more time, or have the students pick 2 out of 3 tasks? The students who joined on Jan 25th just went through weeks of no activity at all, this is a bit too much, in my opinion.

@FinleyTews Hi Finley, I understand that the break was not ideal and I apologize for the inconvenience. The idea is to have the article writing span over a week - do you think decreasing the number of graphics/Q&As makes better sense? As this is the final part of the experience, we wanted to include the main exercises.

@SoulfullyAButterfly Yes, decreasing the number of Q&As and graphics would help. Also, is there a limit for the period of extension one can ask for? A close friend of mine suddenly passed away last night, I'm afraid I will get very little work done this week.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

Thank you for designing and teaching this course. I also felt a bit weird: I did get much to do for a week and suddenly I had to squeeze out time to complete the last assignment. That's overwhelming for me. It amazed me that I mangaged to submit the article without needing to ask for an extension.

Just a side note, initially I thought I would be better at writing mental health related articles. And I found out at this point writing on serious topics could be quite stressful for me. On the contrary, I may have more fun creating graphic contents for social media platforms. I don't know whether other course takers have experienced something similar. Maybe half way through the course, students can choose different pathways - articles or graphic contents.It may work better for peolple with different focuses and availabilities.The end goal for a student is to cultivate enough skills to be a part of a team.

@SoulfullyAButterfly, thank you for your hard work on designing and mentoring this class, particularly in the middle of your other activities such as the Translation Project and life outside 7Cups. I understand very well if you feel tired and there is so much to do.

I'd just like to confirm whether you've received both my e-mail and application to take part in the Translation Project (the e-mail was sent approximately a week ago and the application last month). In case the mail failed to reached you, here I restate some points from it as well as adding some points:

1. When would be the deadline for these three final tasks? Would it be two weeks as usual (since they are for both W7 and W8), thus making it 3 May?

2. I haven't heard back from you regarding both the Translation Project and editing an article. Please do confirm with me regarding these two.

3. I feel confused about the final task regarding Q&A. I saw your note about its further instruction would be provided within the week the task was given out and your example on the dashboard, but I still have no clue on both where the further instruction was and how to actually complete this task.

4. I saw some great points raised by fellow trainees on this page and would like to collaborate on their suggestions. Either decreasing the number of requirements or allowing students to choose two tasks seems fair to me. The "graphic or article" pathway might be good for some, but what if trainees want to do both? As an example, I personally like both article writing and creating graphics, but despise Q&A. (For me, questions should only be answered by experts and enthusiasts in the field. It would be weird for volunteers who write articles focusing on cancer to be required to answer enquiries on addiction or ADHD; and since we can choose our topic/focus, I think it's only fair if we can also choose which questions we want to answer.)

Thank you in advance.

@11820Read Hi there,

Thank you so much for using this thread: we are having email problems from our end (they get to Spam and thus people miss important things) and it seems your email also faced a similar issue - I'm just seeing only one in my Spam box. I unfortunately do not have your other stated emails.

1) Yes, this is the final 2 weeks work, so you can take up to 2 weeks.

2) Can you check your inbox for an email from POEditor and myself? If not I will re-add you to the Translation Project. As for your article editing request, that is the email I just found and I will send you further instructions. One good way is to whitelist/add my email (ayesha@7cups.com)

3) The Week 7 and 8 discussion does contain the guidelines, but you can expect to find questions and keywords listed on the dashboard as soon as Monday.

4) I really like your reflection about choosing 2 tasks out of the 3 options - I will be announcing this change too, so please feel welcome to do any of the 2 for now, to begin with.

Lastly, I want to mention that you are also welcome to PM me anytime for support, especially if you feel I have not received your emails, we have already decided to post announcements at Cups too to help with this.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

Thank you so much for taking time to answer my questions and concerns in details.

1. Noted, thank you for the clarification!

2. Unfortunately none of these emails is in my inbox or spam folder, which is weird because every time you send an announcement regarding new lessons being posted, I can receive it just fine!

3. Thank you! Since according to your answer for my question #4 trainees such as I are allowed to choose 2 out of 3 tasks, I may not do the Q&A; but I will go check it out anyway!

4. Just letting you know that I'll be doing 3 graphics and an article. I will be deciding a topic soon, but for the actual writing, I'm waiting for the feedback on my first article per your suggestion in the Final Weeks Lesson. Thus, if it sounds fair enough for you, I will be submitting this one approximately one week after I receive the aforementioned feedback. Please do let me know if this is OK with you.

Thank you for reading my post, and of course for your hard work and dedication for our community amid your busyness. And also for letting me know about the technical problem of the e-mail system. I'll be sure to send you a PM as well in the future in case the same issue re-occurs.

@SoulfullyAButterfly I wanna ask that the Q&A questions will be chosen from the page and provided keywords for by you, right? If this is too much work on your shoulders, I think the students can do so ourselves and post a link from a specific keyword tool to prove that the keywords presented are accurate. And as the questions are still being added, I'm not sure when the deadline will be, but I might have to ask for a one-week extension due to the personal loss I mentioned. Thank you in advance.

Hi, yes we will be using the dashboard with keywords provided - thank you for considering the work it takes to research thr keywords but that extra help is not required yet. No worries, you can take your time.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

Amazing work - but I almost considered quitting a few times (and I'm pretty good with time management). There were weeks of intense work which overlapped with graduate school work deadlines and content creator deadlines....and weeks where I had free time on both ends.

I appreciate the hard work in this course and your time, I will work on these tasks but if I felt this way I suspect some others may have felt this way also.

I would like to ask for an extension if possible ... it may give me some security.

@SynSavory I understand, I think Programs like these do need some dedication and our lives can get busy too especially as regular students and these uncertain pandemic times. I am always willing to help as well as give you an extension!

Hiya! Hope you're well :)

I've finished the 3 Graphics required and am just working on the 10 Q&As. I went ahead and found unanswered questions and found appropriate keywords to do since all the Q&As in the assignment sheet were done. I hope this is okay. I feel stumped about what i could write and would prefer to do Q&As.

Also, is there a Week 7 and Week 8 progress report to fill in?

Thanks so much for organising the course! I've really enjoyed it heart

@jovialButterfly6752 Hi, there might be a little final evaluation form just to collect what options you selected from the final tasks - more information coming soon! Thank you for your great feedback.

@SoulfullyAButterfly

Thanks Soulfully for the clarification :) I just wanted to let you know I'm done with my 10 Q&As and my 3 Graphic submissions. I'll fill in the final form when you share it. Is there anything else I have to do now that I've completed all my tasks?

SoulfullyAButterfly OP June 5th, 2021

Yay! Congratulations! You can expect the Q&As to be reviewed soon and once they are you can submit the answers to be published in the community.
