Stressful job
Hi I'm a newbie to the chat room experience. My name is Tracy I'm 43 and I'm a qualified chef. My job is very stressful and I suffer with generalised anxiety disorder and ocd. I don't take any medication for this I just try to deal with it myself but it's hard..
Hello Tracy. Do you have your own restaurant and work as a chef or do you do work as a chef in other places? I can imagine working as a chef, whether or not one as GAD or OCD, that the work itself can be very stressful. It makes things that much more difficult in the workplace, especially with OCD.
Is there anything you can do to relax yourself when anxiety creeps up on you? I know how OCD affects our work. I have the same problem myself. Everything has to be neat and tidy, all facing the same direction, things must be placed a certain way, and it bothers me when others mess it up. Gradually, I've allowed myself to just let things be, especially when I'm tight for time to complete all my tasks.
How have you tried to deal with it so far?
Hi
I'm a chef for someone else I work in a pub. The management are the problem they won't listen to staff. I'm the only chef with 1 apprentice (management sacked alot of staff) they have no idea how to run a pub. It's stressful and so full on.
I leave work upset angry frustrated sick I don't take any medication my generalised anxiety disorder takes over all the time. I spend my spare time with my fur babies they make me happy.
