Hellooo to the work & career community! 👩‍💼
I have been actively job searching for the past 2.5 months and I am happy to report that I landed a job!

Woohoo!

It's been quite the stressful job search (I'm sure you all can relate to the stresses of resumes, job applications, phone screens, interviews, etc). I feel so relieved to have a job.
The only thing is...I'm am totally inexperienced for the role...

yikes!

Here's the thing...it's a management job, of 3 locations & I've never even been a manager before!
Now- I didn't swindle my way into this job (the hiring manager knows I've never been a manager before). The person who hired me still felt confident enough in my abilities to give me such an amazing opportunity to build my resume and make great strides in my career.
So, on one hand, I know how lucky I am that my resume landed on the desk of someone who is willing to give me a chance. And trust me- I am so thankful for that. But, on the other hand, I'm super duper anxious to dive head first into the unknown. What happens if I fail?

So, does anyone have any encouragement for me?
Has anyone here ever taken a big leap in their career...maybe so much so that they kind of felt like an imposter? How did things turn out? Were you able to work through the anxiety of not knowing what the heck you're doing??

I feel happy for you because I was just like you , I quit my job in October without a plan B because of toxic environment. Am an engineer by profession by the way and during the time of having no job and tried to draw much positivity from each little thing I experienced. I got to attend my siblings events without excuses , got to go out for my favorite acoustic nights, quiz nights and karaoke nights. To be honest I couldn't have done all this if I was working at my former job and this period taught me patience and to wait on God .

I have found a new job with a great Egptian company and I can't believe it all worked for my good.

Hi Michelle, thank you for sharing your experiences, I can relate to wanting to use this time that I'm not working for productive & joyful things :) I am glad to hear of your success in finding a better job & I can agree to the truth of the value of patience and God's timing 🙏
