Confused about being at my job
I have been struggling with the job I have currently from the past 2 years. The pay is below average and I resent and dread most of my working days. The working hours are never fixed and there is no overtime payment too. The colleagues i work with are great and the always try to cheer me up. But I always get this feeling of changing this field I work in. I want to try new things but i fear i might not be able to do that i don't have a college degree and rn I don't have the means to solely focus on college and earn side by side. I really want to make a switch ti feel like myself but I'm not sure how to approach this, plan this and execute it without losing money. Has anyone gone through something similar?

Hi there frankWatermelon!
Sorry to hear you are not feeling good in your current job. Positive is that colleagues are cool, something we can't always take for granted!
Maybe if you really feel that you should change job you can see if you can find something that meets your expectations, before leaving. So that you won't risk loss of money. Could that work?
Take care
Thanks for your response! :)
Well yes i do think of that way. I don't know how to manage my long working hours while finding my own path... My main struggle is over there. The timings....

Hope at a point you will feel inspired to try a path

I went from working retail for 10 years to working for a major university, now going on my 23er year. Decent pay and good benefits. I don't have a college degree but i am able to learn.

several people i know as well as me have changed fields and do well despite having no degree or maybe an associates degree ...... there are many jobs i have found or seen that you can be trained on the job ...... they are not glamorous or a nice title to explain to friends or family but make decent or good money and set hours and etc.
Hello. I also don't have a college/university degree either. At first, I worked in Retail for 10+ years, then I completed a Certificate Program and got into the Medical field I'm currently doing now. It's been 4 years now.
So, my suggestion, is to figure out what other kind of field of work you'd like to be doing or have interests in, then, see if there's like a Certificate Program for it. Certificates education is shorter than Diploma/Degree. Luckily, my Certificate Program was only a 4 month intense full-time course. So, I was able to quit my retail to focus on this program. If you're okay with self-motivation when it comes to studies, you might even be able to take something online too.
Hope you can find your path soon!~
