Parents hurt my feeling saying "they don't care" about my feelings
So since 2020 I been trying to go to one Fast Food Place a month to get food for lunch. But due to unusual circumstances-I chose not to get food last month for lunch. The unusually circumstances was that: a)my parents and I got Harvey's for supper on the Monday before Mom and my third trip into Bard's town on the Wednesday. On that Wednesday-after we tried another sushi place (it was closed like the other one)-we went to get Popeye's Louisiana food instead. I thought that was "too much fast food" for awhile. So I haven't gotten any lunches since July.
So Monday, due to Mom cleaning up the dinning room so we can put new bookcases in for me- Dad decided to get fast food -I said "No" to pizza, because Mom and I will be eating at Boston Pizza tomorrow so that meant Harvey's again.
Now I had plans up until now, for next week to go get fast food, I was thinking about going to Dairy's Queen. But tonight, while I was on my computer looking at (social media) I found out that on the 17th of the month (Sept) that my friend's workplace is having a Harry Potter trivia night and I don't know if I should both now to get fast-food if I'm going to be having to be paying for food/drinks at the restaurant.
My parents and I were having a fight about them not understanding me and they claim I was understanding but they weren't. And Mom said I was semi-focused on one tiny detail: I dont' want to pay tomorrow for my lunch, I don't want to be buying any meals on our trip in October, I want to get a fast-food lunch this month, due to not having any fast food lunches since July. And when I tried to explain to them- I been to Harvey's 3 times in the last 3 months- June, and then twice more since then August and yesterday, and then McDonald's I been to at least 4-5 times: Once in early April (Lunch) and then in late April I was back again (Mom, Luna, and My supper and ate there), I was back there again in June to get fast-food because the parents were going out to eat and they said I could get fast-food for supper, July-my only lunch in the last 3 months. My Mom "I don't care" and that hurt my feelings a lot.
It just I think because I haven't had any fast-food lunches in June or August, I really want to get fast food, but its not wise to get fast-food if I'm going to be buying stuff the following week for food. But my tummy wants to make up for "lost time" of June and August.
@Disneywoman sounds complicated, i dont eat fast food, last time i ate at mcdonals was 22 years ago, hope you can sort it out, but seams like family is complicated
Hi,
Like the previous poster has said, it does sound complicated. Sorry to hear your feelings got hurt amongst it all, but hope things went ok.
I’m feeling a bit hungry myself now 🌹
@Disneywoman Quite convoluted, 😹 but yeah we can get rigid at times trying to schedule our meal plans. Sometimes when they don't align with others we've got to act independently. But certainly can cause conflict with the mom and pop.
The best laid plans of mice and men often do go afoul.
@competentTruth3079 It just I get sick and tired of always going to the same place with my Dad or not being able to get sides (which is an entirely different thread somewhere on here). Like if we're giving Mom a rest the two choices are:
1.Pizza and its ALWAYS from Little Caesar and it means we can only have 'home sides' mainly potato chips and baked beans. vs. if Mom and I were at Boston Pizza, or a sit-down Domino's pizza we would get something else like garlic toast or some kind of twisty bread. There's a thread on here about the "side dishes" here: https://www.7cups.com/forum/autism/General_2554/DadnevergetssideswithPizza_334648/
and the 2nd choice for Dad is Harvey's. And in the last 2 months I been there twice-its gets boring when if Pizza isn't an option (And the only reason it wasn't an option is I didn't want to be sick of Pizza on that Wednesday when Mom and I went to Boston Pizza) he goes to Harvey's instead and being there twice is just really tiring when I already been there once before in June on my birthday and Igot a meal to bring home.
Its like Dad never wants to do anything else? I mean why can't we go to Burger King next time to get food if Pizza isn't an option? (Not that I'm planning on eating any kind of pizza for awhile unless I happen to make it since now that its fall time -except for October Mom's main "idea" for the suppers I'm making will be Pizza for me to make)
@Disneywoman Pizza pizza, I'm picking up what you're putting down. Your daddo is a man of routine. That's hard though when we've got an appetite that differs, sick of that same old, feeling that we're not being heard by our folks. Your mother giving you that 403, request denied. That does hurt.
You make pizzas though too? That's pretty neat.
@competentTruth3079 I only make pizza during the fall to spring time because I normally have 0 ideas for suppers. I do occasionally push for something beside pizza like quesadillas so I can have a break from baked beans being on the table every single night. Or make Pasta (meat sauce).
But i have two goals for this year: 1. work with flour since I wanted to make something in the spring because I got bored with my two normal choices: ramyeon (ramen) and home made mac and cheese and the one thing that was appealing I couldn't make since I have very little experience with flour. 2.Use the slow cooker for something so it can be doing the cooking when I'm elsewhere.
I just realize that Dad could just get a freaking side at LC so we don't have to have what I call "home sides" because I'm just sick of always having "home sides" which are ONLY chips every single time we get Pizza from Little Caesars and late last year Mom said "next time Dad gets LC's we can have sides" but we got Pizza from LC at least 3 times this year and not ONCE have we got anything but Pizza from LC the only sides were from chips that we don't eat on Fridays (since I put popcorn and party mix chips out on Fridays for: Taco salad, chili, Pizza or burgers dad makes).
See why I would like some crazy bread or something so I can have something other then Devil's BBQ chips or Kettle corn, or Japeleno chips with pizza?!
@Disneywoman I like the way you think DW! 😹 The strategy that goes into your food selection and compromising makes me chuckle. 😹
And yes I get you, we can't eat the same lot everyday. I'm always advocating for eating healthier greener meals. Less salt and fat like our anthropological ancestors. Moderation. ❤️ Stay lovely. ❤️💫💯
