I'm ashamed I have autism I've struggled for years and year, now I know why.

Shame is a very common reaction. Unfortunately it’s not useful and if you dwell in your shame it will take a lot longer to find methods to manage yourself better.

You are still you. Autism isn’t a disease so much as a classification. Welcome to the rest of your life. You now know that there’s this huge group of people that can relate with exactly what you are going through.

Congratulations you can now recognize in advance situations that you will have difficulty with and prepare for them instead of going in blind with both hands tied behind your back.

You are not alone anymore.

I'm glad you finally know. When you are ready we can work together to make life better.

Very well said! I was ashamed when I was first diagnosed but after about 6 months I decided, I have autism it doesn't have me. So I started to tell family and close friends. And most of them accepted it with open arms. Some needed to learn about it. But all in all it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be..
