Dealing with anxiety and overwhelmed.

navyTalker2054 November 3rd

So I’m potentially autistic and dealing with anxiety related to my appearance and need for control. Which leads me to make impulsive decisions that sometimes results in calamity, like right now…

I have no solid support system and have been staying at home full-time for about 8 months now, which is likely exacerbating these feelings.

I also can’t sleep well because of the physical tension and aches in my jaw and ears. My usual distractions are not helping and I can’t even stim to music because of the physical discomfort. I don’t know what to do anymore.

I don’t have the money for a therapist or anything like that.

And anymore changes in my routine are stressful right now.

Some support would be appreciated…

Hi there, I hear you. This sounds so tough right now and it does sound like your self confidence is at rock bottom. I’d definitely say keep trying to get out, even a short walk can help. Distractions are good and sometimes whilst your out other people doing the same, begin to chat. It’s a good way to challenge any negativities about yourself. Another option would be to have a chat with your doctor and see what therapy may be available.

Do you journal at all? Just thinking it’s good to keep track of your feelings and a way to get things out of your head and onto paper.

Thanks for reaching out and hopefully there may be other posters who can offer support too.
