Social anxiety and relationships

sociableSpruce9018 January 22nd, 2022

Hey everyone, i have struggled with social anxiety for many many years, especially in my teenage years and although it is a lot better now, i still have this fear of never having a relationship, because i‘m still too anxious to get close to someone who doesn‘t understand how social anxiety feels like, but everyone around is dating and with every month i feel like it will get worse, because i never had any romantic experience whatsoever and the older i get the more unusual that is, which makes my anxiety even worse, idk if anyone can even understand what i mean, but maybe someone can relate

It sounds like social anxiety keeps you from having a romantic experience, and the anxiety level gets higher over time. When social anxiety keeps you from the group for the very first time, you may try to skip the social event. However, every time you avoid a social event, it makes it harder to process the social event next time, like a downward spiral. It is hard to break this type of spiral. Especially the case that happens over and over again. Coping with anxiety physical symptoms first. Gain your self-confidence step by step slowly. It takes time, but it is worth it. Wish you luck.
