Health Anxiety

Guidien October 14th, 2020

Tight chest, hard to breathe, hard to sleep, can't talk because I can't breathe, hoarse voice, neck tightness, back spasms, eye twitches, ear ringing, not getting a full breath, addicted to worrying because if you stop something bad will happen, avoiding social situations, clogged nose, stomach pain, IBS, panic thoughts. These are the symptoms I'm dealing with daily and are hard to break the cycle of. I know they are anxiety because I've had tests done and I am a perfectly fit guy who nourishes their body with good food and meditation and exercise. Preparedness is my double edge sword and I need to harness this as a positive skill instead of my worrying pitfall.

if this sounds like you, well maybe I won't feel so different.

@Guidien I've definitely felt this way before. I was told that I had GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder)

@Jem7Cups

me too! I also read recently that anxiety is the receipt of planning. Lol, it sure feels like I have been doing a lot of planning lately. Thanks for commenting !

Hi, I know exactly how you feel. I have had this specific anxiety since I decided to take anxiety meds to calm my system down and i reacted badly to them. It made me pass out and when i woke I had this horrible wave of burning cold go through my chest into my shoulders, I could taste metal and my tongue went pins and needles, I felt myself blacking out again. It scared me. I panicked i was having a heart attack and ran to ER. That moment screwed me up and now I am stuck. I stress sweat, chest pains, neck ache, headaches, eye twitches, high blood pressure, extemely dizzy, cannot breathe, insomnia, IBS. I had most of these responses before the health anxiety but they were more manageable. I am sorry to hear you are suffering with this, I hope you are doing well today. You are definetly not alone!

@Guidien I forgot I also wanted to say, do you know what is beautiful about your anxiety? You care about yourself, your body, your health. You want what is best for yourself and strive for that. That is a good thing! :)

@MauraLess

thanks for this MauraLess. It's true, optimism is a lifestyle and can help see the gratitude in every situation.

lately I get stabbing pains in sternum, and in my lower left ribs and it is preventing me from feeling grateful. Sensations make me worry the most
