Thank you so much!!!! Much needed this morning
@PrettyPapillon4354 I tried this, but can I ask you a question? This morning, I felt the anxiety come on pretty hard. I got mad at it, really mad. I yelled at it. I cursed at it, calling it every name I could think of. Is it bad to do this? Is letting myself get mad a good way to deal with anxiety when my goal should be to calm down? Am I doing something wrong?

Hey Jordan!
I can totally understand how it feels to get so angry at your anxiousness, i had those times too. But as you've said, it isn't really the best solution.
The way i got control of my anxiety, is that i stopped thinking of it as something i needed to push out and run away from, because as you can imagine it only made it worse. What i did, i befriended my anxiety you might say, and accepted it as a part of me.
Now when i feel anxious, i stop what i'm doing to give it my full attention, like you would to a friend who needs your help or who's feeling down. I ask myself "ok, so what's the problem here?". Then i try to get to the bottom of my anxiety. Is it a straightforward thing like lets say an outing with friends, or a doctors appointment or an interview i'm stressing about? Or is it a build up of small things that made me uncomfortable throughout the day that has shifted me out of my comfort zone?
When i find the problem, i go through it. Why is it making me anxious? Is there a chance i'm slightly overreacting? Are my thoughts reasonable? Is the task within my realistic capabilities?
I tell myself, i know this is making you feel anxious, and i know this is scary, but i believe in you and we can do it. We can face it and we can ace it. It's gonna be ok.
I keep on reassuring myself until i feel better and more confident.
I've found this method has made me more in control of my anxiety and i get less anxious, because the reassurance has built my self-esteem and now i believe i can do anything.
I hope this can help you find a better way to help your anxiety, i hope i worded everything clearly and it makes sense❤ i wish you all the best

@PrettyPapillon4354 Thank you for your post. I came down from the anger, and now my mind is in a dark place that is really scaring me.
