Anxiety changes

MissSaint21 February 27th, 2021

Does anyone have it to where the form of their anxiety changes? When I first developed anxiety I was terrified of sleeping since I thought I would die in my sleep. Now I’m anxious around the feeling of my own throat, I always think it’s closing when it’s not because I focus on it too much. I even focus on my breathing ok much to the point I constantly check my own oxygen with a pulse ox to feel better.

Hi MissSaint21,

Yes, I think your anxiety changes are completely valid. I have no idea why it happens, to be honest, it's probably idiosyncratic, but yes, I've experienced it (in my own unique way, same as you having your own way).

Yes 100% I have health anxiety and my anxiety changes to every single disease or illness known to man , my mind also makes me feel sensations relating to whatever illness I think I have (e,g brain tumour , ms , blood clots , heart attacks, stroke) . The feeling in your throat is a very common symptom of anxiety . I would say you're probably suffering from a form of health anxiety I'm not expert I just am going off the way I am I constantly check my temperature and seek reassurance from people and health professionals . I'm not on anxiety and depression medication for this and since relaxing more and using useful techniques most of my physical symptoms have gone. Hope you feel better soon xx

@MissSaint21

Hi, oh that sounds afwulz sorry you are experiencing that.

For me, anxiety seems to be changing a lot too (or rather, the anxiety doesn't change, perhaps it's just channeled differently). Right now I'm scared of losing cognitive function, but also of my future and so on. It can get pretty bad sometimes where I spiral but usually I somehow can recover due to sone event happening or another.
