Anxiety about anxiety

I've been literally feeling anxious about anxiety. My stomach wraps in knots and I get so overwhelmed just worrying about feeling this was if that makes sense! Like I get panic attacks because I'm scared of having to deal with anxiety for a long time. I'm scared of it never leaving. And I worry thinking "what if I feel anxious later" which just results in me feeling anxious about that. I'm more scared of feeling anxious than the anxious thoughts themselves. (I'm very sorry, I hope this makes sense.)

Hey there,

Believe me, I understand what you mean by feeling stress about the existing anxiety you've been experiencing. It can leave anyone in a similar situation feeling such distress and fright about how to manage it and wonder if it will ever be overcome in the future.

It's very common for anxiety to include overthinking, as well as weird stomach sensations. It takes so much valiance and resilience to battling this matter for such a long time, something for which you deserve praise.

Fearing the fear is common. We can create our own panic. It's hard to break free. Do you have coping strategies to distract yourself? Are you seeing a doctor? Are you on any meds? If you think you need help, reach out. I've been dealing with anxiety since childhood. There are ways to deal with it. Don't give up.

It sounds like you are experiencing anxiety about anxiety, which can be a common symptom of anxiety disorders. This can create a cycle of worry and fear that can make anxiety feel overwhelming and difficult to manage. Here are some tips that may help:Recognize the Cycle: The first step in breaking the cycle of anxiety about anxiety is to recognize it. Once you understand that your worry about anxiety is causing more anxiety, you can start to take steps to manage it.

Challenge Negative Thoughts: Negative thoughts can fuel anxiety and make it worse. When you notice yourself worrying about anxiety, challenge those thoughts by asking yourself if they are realistic or helpful. Try to replace negative thoughts with more positive ones.

Hey fellow mate . I hope you are doing fine today and this message finds you in good health. I have been through that phase of my life where I felt and anxious and anxiety throughout the day and mind being in a constant roller coaster one after the another and worrying about things which we have to face in future I can only suggest you that try making list of things that make you feel this much anxious because of which you feel anxiety and deal with each day and situation as it comes sometimes things are not really that scary what we believe it to be by worrying about it . We only live once and there is nothing more important that yourself in your life so take a break and deal with things one at a time worrying about the things that you have no control over will make it worse believe in the process and do your best to deal with it and leave the rest upto the universe things will eventually fall in line when time is right so cheer up my friend and enjoy the process of life . I hope I was of some help to you .

Hey! I understand how frustrating it can be when your thoughts are spiralling and you fear what kind of feelings will pop up in the future, it can be painful. But as you can see with the comments above mine, you’re not alone, many struggle, some have overcome and some are on the journey to overcome. You will get there, even though it may seem too difficult now. Wishing you all the strength❤️

I can hear how anxious you are about anxiety. Anxiety can be so scary and I hear you. I understand what you mean when you say your stomach wraps in knots and you get overwhelmed. Panic attacks are completely normal when you have anxiety and panicking about things. The fear of it never leaving is real but it does get better, it might not be a simple thing but it does get easier. Worrying about the next time you’ll worry I understand, you panic about it coming and then once it’s over you’ll panic again and it’s a cycle. You’re not alone in this.

@pizzapozza I understand what you mean. Sometimes I get anxious about something and then I get anxious about getting anxious. Sounds silly but it happens and I totally get what you mean. It can be so stressful. It's important to try and remember that fear of the unknown is common, and we can create our own panic and anxiety. Have you seen anybody about your anxiety? Like a doctor or a therapist? Do you have any coping strategies/activities or thoughts that make you feel better or even distract you? I've dealt with anxiety since I was a teenager and I know that journaling is something thats really helped to clear my mind and make me feel better. Hope you start to feel better soon :)

@pizzapozza hi there🌸 what you are saying makes total sense, i completely understand. Feeling anxious about future feelings of anxiety are far more common than you might think, you are not alone 🌤️ It can feel really isolating and overwhelming when we can't control these anxious thoughts and i appreciate that you have opened up about this as a lot of people can relate! Have you tried any coping exercises in the past to stop your anxious thoughts from spiraling?
