Anxiety --> Insomnia

earlgreylavender January 16th, 2020

I have a lot to think about it my life and my head is getting in the way of sleeping through the night. I've been doing yoga for about 2 weeks every night and it helps calm down my thoughts, but it all comes rushing back within half an hour.

I wake up with a sort of anxiety-jumpstart-panic at night (I don't remember dreaming) and sometimes I can't go back to sleep. What kind of person can I ever hope to become if I can't get my head under control?

I'm trying not to beat myself up but it's difficult and I'm tired.

Tips to help get to sleep?

@earlgreylavender

My anxiety interrupts my sleep. It's very frustrating. I've been doing a couple of things. First, I accept that I'm okay if I wake up at night. I'm not going to be frustrated. I'm not going to get upset. That just makes it worse. Second, I wear headphones throughout the night. I listen to soft music or white noise or stories. If I wake up and can't get myself back to sleep, I put on some audio. Third, I use meditation/breathing techniques and focus on that to realx and sleep.
