Feeling like getting a panic attack the whole day

armature May 16th, 2017

Hey, i'm new to the anxiety community here because i've mostly been in the depression community due to my severe depression.

I've just recently started having really bad anxiety days when i can barely function at all and i'm quite clueless what to do. It's like the physical symptoms of a starting panic attack: can't breathe properly, feeling of weight on my chest, strong and fast heartbeat etc, but for the whole goddamn day. I also feel super anxious and helpless and cry easier, and or some reason it never ends in an actual "bad" panic attack. How could i alleviate the anxiety? Or find out why i've started getting these recently?

There's some self-help guides under the path menu here on anxiety and panic attacks. The mindfulness audio section has helped me a lot with decreasing anxiety overall. This one in particular is for listening to when you feel you're having a panic attack or are feel you might be close to having one: https://www.7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness560/

...Also my panic attacks started as feeling overwelmed because of depression and stress robbing me of enough energy to do even small things so my mind would start racing on all the things that hadn't been done yet. The mindfulness audio can help find a more quiet spot in the mind behind all the racing thoughts.

@CoinFountain

Yeah I can relate to that, I think that depression could have a huge impact on anxiety. And feeling depressed, you blame yourself for small things like forgetting to answer a text etc, and I think that can lead to a massive anxiety ball when you start to think that you're not good enough and that you must do more and try more (even though it feels almost impossible). But I think I'll give mindfullness a go :)
