intrusive thoughts

uwurai December 26th, 2023

recently i've been getting more intrusive thoughts and its really starting to bother me. they make me feel uncomfortable and of course the more i want them to disappear the more they stick around. i have read the usual articles with tips about mindfullness and im pretty sure they're caused by the stress i've had recently, but i still wanted to share and if anyone has tips or experiences that would be appreciated😊

@uwurai I'm really sorry to hear that you've been experiencing intrusive thoughts, and I appreciate you reaching out to share your feelings. It takes a lot of courage to open up about such experiences. It's completely understandable that these thoughts are causing discomfort.

Stress can indeed be a significant factor in the persistence of intrusive thoughts. In addition to mindfulness, you might consider incorporating physical exercise into your routine to release built-up tension. Breathing techniques, such as cardiac coherence, can provide a sense of calm and help ground you.

Exploring hobbies is another effective strategy to distract yourself and find joy. Engaging in activities you enjoy, whether it's reading, painting, gardening, or any other hobby, can contribute positively to your mental well-being.

Talking to a mental health professional can provide valuable insights and coping strategies tailored to your specific situation.

If you ever need someone to talk to or share your thoughts, don't hesitate to reach out. Take things one step at a time, and be kind to yourself during this challenging period. Take care 💚
