Trouble Sleeping

Does anyone here have trouble sleeping? I have been afraid to sleep for the past several months. Any suggestions on what to do ?

@Ronripleyhorror me!!!!! ahahahahahha, something happened last year so i kept on crying before sleep and waking up. it went on and on and on, until i have nightmares days in a row and i was scared to sleep.

suggestions would be having a routine before going to bed. i know its tough to find your own routine, but it can be a fun journey. for me, my routine is watching youtube videos 30 minutes before going to bed with all the lights off. i usually watch streamers playing games. sleep sounds, drinking warm drinks, small exercise dont work for me. but you can definitely try everything and see what suits you the most. deep breath also suits me from time to time.

you can definitely go to a doctor and get prescribed sleeping pills, please always consult a doctor if you want to have medicines as a helping hand.

it actually took almost a year to finally get a consistent good quality of sleep for me, but thats totally okay.

a doctor once told me, your body will definitely sleep when it feels like it needs sleep. so you dont need to worry about not being able to sleep. your body will definitely help you to sleep when it feels it needs to. when you feel like your body wants to sleep, make sure to listen to it.

Thank you. Yes my body has been really talking to me lately. Tylenol PM helps me sometimes!

@Ronripleyhorror I struggle to sleep as well when I'm anxious! It can be so frustrating, especially when I know some rest would actually help me not to be so anxious. 
Something I've been trying is to create a routine, so I go through the same things before bed to try and help my mind calm down, but also to recognize that it's not time for racing thoughts, and to slow down. Maybe that could help?
You mentioned being afraid to sleep, do you know why that is? That might help you in deciding what to try to improve it!

Thank you Anna. I did sleep better last night! My anxiety is on overdrive right now!

Thank you. I am just afraid that I will have a BPPV episode again. That's a really bad vertigo episode !

@Ronripleyhorror Hi, I have been having some problems with sleep the past few months. I go to sleep but I can't stay asleep at times. And I find myself up at 3am watching videos on youtube until I pass out again. I know this isn't good, Some day I sleep ok but I know there is some anxiety I'm having about sleeping that doesn't help. I did notice that if I do some breathing exercises, I can get to the point where I relax again and fall asleep. Maybe try that....

Thank you guys for the suggestions! I have been trying to have a routine . But I had a really bad episode of BPPV over a year ago and I am afraid to wake up spinning. When I am extremely tired. I sleep with no problem. I do try to read or watch something before I sleep and it helps. But as soon as I wake up to use the restroom, I am up 🙄. I just want a good 7 hours lol.

@Ronripleyhorror Hi, you sound just like me. I go to sleep ok, but if I get up to use the bathroom and etc. Then I am up until I get tired enough and pass out. I'm not sure why this has been happening to me either but I am trying to figure out why. It would be nice to get a night of restful sleep but I try not to stress about it as that will just make it worse.

I have trouble sleeping because my life has been so disappointing - it's hard not to brood about it. Plus after a layoff and cancer, my funds are dwindling. I'm so TIRED of being poor!
