I need hobbies.
I cannot stick with a consistent hobby for one reason or another. I like building Legos, but they are insanely expensive. I like playing video games, but I start feeling depressed when I play by myself, and my friends are never available. I play piano and guitar, but I've been playing both for years and I haven't made much progress and I'm honestly starting to get tired of them. I live in the middle of nowhere and gas is expensive, so I can't really just go to fun places all the time.
Sorry for the rambling. The point is I want some hobbies that I enjoy that aren't too expensive and that I'll enjoy doing for an extended amount of time. Please let me know of your ideas.

I can definitely relate to not being able to stick with a hobby. It can be really frustrating. Here are some ideas you may be interested in: reading, crocheting, gardening, baking, photography, candle making, carving, knitting, hiking, taking walks, writing, cooking, learning a new language.
I hope I could be of some help!
I had the same problem, I also love playing video games and I’ve played the piano for a few years but haven’t made much progress. I just jumped hobbies and topics until I found my interests. I found that I love writing poetry and learning about space and everything within it. Such as quantum mechanics, space time continuum, quantum physics, and astrology but not on a supernatural sense.
i found hopping between hobbies and topics was the easiest way to find something that I found interesting
@BodaciousTurtle27 Keep trying new things! I know how you feel, for a feel similarly. Sometimes I'll even get really good at my hobbies and then abandon them because I judge myself to harshly, <-don't do this. Ha ha! But the ones I really enjoy have become a go to when I'm feeling down! Here's hoping you'll find one you can't get enough of soon!
I struggle with this constantly and used to beat myself up all the time for not having a ‘niche’ but after so many years of just feeling ick I realised that even if it’s a brand new hobby or something I can’t imagine myself sticking to for a long time -if I’m that present moment it gives you some dopamine and makes you feel good then just vibe in that moment.
it Doesn’t matter what it is - as long as it’s not detrimental to you or causing you harm then just enjoy those fleeting moments. It may not last a long time but if it makes you feel good then go for it and don’t worry about having to stick to it.
read half a book, play half a video game, go for a run one day randomly because you feel like it.
we’re always so focused on the long term and don’t allow ourselves to just be present.
@BodaciousTurtle27 I was having the exact same issue a while back, and still struggle with this. One thing I have found I really love is reading. I loved it as a kid but then didn't have enough time I guess. I was worried about getting back into reading because I was afraid my mind would wander and I wouldn't be able to concentrate. But I have had the exact opposite experience. I think my brain was so desperate to be stimulated by something that it accepted it. I've read more books this year than any year in my adult life so far. I would definitely recommend :)
Hey , I can understand you very well
I feel that too and I have the same struggle
Trying new things and don't let yourself bored is a challenge
You can Trying hiking you and your music
You can try to write or read or maybe to draw
You can try making DIY stuff
Or maybe having something to care about like a pet or plants
There is more that you can figure out
And more tips don't think about excuses... write now in any paper what you makes you feel excited even if it's expansive and then let your self write dig in deep into your head and you will find the answer
Hope that will help you

If you want to take up drawing, animation can be a really fun activity that ends up being pretty rewarding. If you can't draw, Source Filmmaker is free on Steam, and you can download pretty much any video game character model to make cgi animations
During the covid shutdowns, I discovered the Zello app. It was easier to find groups on it then, and I used to hang out online with zello channels. One groups talked about cooking and food a certain night a week. Another talked about news and politics. The cooking channel also had trivia games one night a week. I found another regroup related to a hobby of mine and have actually met IRL woth them as they hold regional campouts and such.
Amature radio might be cool if you are remote. There are 2 meter radios that cost 25.00 on Amazon t9 get started and can be operated under the lowest license level.
Programming, I learned to program and it proved insanely difficult, but I kept going, got a massive amount of feedback from people and ended up making some pretty insane things. Turns out it's now my income and adhd I want to say actually helped me, lol.

Lego is indeed expensive. But here is someone who rents out those crazy expensive lego kits. Maybe you have them as well. Or start renting out some of yours and start a small local community about it.
I like video games as well. But I personally look for games I can finish in 20hours or so. Otherwise it starts to take over my life too much.
Hope this helps, just keep trying things. Usually something sticks.
