12 Days Sober
Twelve days into my sobriety and I think the hardest part of it is trying to convince yourself that you're making an improvement in your life while you're feeling worse than you ever remember. It's like eating a plate full of the food you hate the most and telling yourself that it's good for you.
@JerseyGrizzly Congratulations on taking such a courageous step towards your sobriety journey. It's completely natural to face challenges and doubts along the way, especially when the initial phase feels tough. Remember that the path to improvement isn't always linear, and it's okay to have moments of struggle. Your analogy is quite fitting – sometimes positive changes come with uncomfortable feelings.
As time goes on, your body and mind will adjust, and you'll likely start noticing the positive impacts of your decision. It might help to remind yourself of the reasons you decided to pursue sobriety and to celebrate even the small victories. Surrounding yourself with supportive people who understand your journey can also make a significant difference. Keep believing in your strength and progress – you're on the path to a healthier and better life.
I know tht feeling when I got sober I couldn’t eat or sleep for 5 days. forcing yourself to walk around and eat sucks but it’s the only way you’re gonna feel better. It takes a while for your body to return back to normal. I am 2mo sober now. Time goes by quick. I still am not fully back to normal but I have my energy back that was the hardest part for me. Goodluck & you’re doing the right thing !!
