Academy Programs Limit Announcement
Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well. At 7 Cups Academy, we are consistently trying to improve trainee/intern experience and finding ways to facilitate their program journey. We noticed a concerning pattern lately and we have come to a decision to prevent burnout within the academy programs.
Moving forward, a community user is only allowed to complete two academy programs at a time. We do not recommend you do two, but we are allowing it and trusting your judgement. But anymore than two at a time will no longer be allowed, even if you join one from member account and two from listener.
This rule applies to anyone who applies from now onwards. Not to those who are currently enrolled. If you have found to be in more than two programs, you will be dropped from the one you applied for at the latest. If we notice a pattern of this rule being violated, you will not be allowed into an academy program for at least 3 months but the break can be more if we feel necessary.
This is simply to ensure that you can make the most of the program(s) you take part in and that you don’t burn out. We highly recommend that you do not take on more than one program at a time. Academy programs are free and available all throughout the year so you can join anytime!

This is a wonderful update, Hope. ❤
One should be at their pace and take their time to actually savor the learning and experience and ofcourse, to not feel burn out, one thing at a time lol, there's already a multi-faceted learning system incorporated in all the programs, which is quite fascinating really. ❤
@Hope
Thank you for this post, I almost... almost was about to get a little too excited and apply for another program while currently finishing 2 😓 The programs are such a wonderful gift to both utilize with others and apply to our professional and personal lives
I think that's a wise decision. It's so easy to start with energetic enthusiasm, only to become overwhelmed and regretful later on when you try to juggle that many obligations. The Academy is meant to be a good thing rather than the cause of unnecessary stress.
@Hope
That sounds like a great idea! Especially to stop people getting burnt out <3 It should also help with the quality of the programmes as people can concentrate more on a specific academy to a high standard instead of multiple to a low standard :)

@Hope
This is a wonderful update! Thank you for addressing this issue.
I just have one question. You're just not supposed to complete 2 programs at a time, but are you still allowed to complete all of them one at a time (e.g. I finish the internship, then I finish the LDP and then so on)? Or are you only limited to completing just two of the programs?
@kindFish9215
Great question, Kind. In the post, Hope has mentioned that one can do two programs at once if they really want to and can manage the two programs well without feeling burn out (the academy team trusting the trainee's judgment and allowing them that leeway, not something very much recommended again but still allowed), but to not be enrolled in more than two programs at once, and yes that would mean, we can complete all the programs at some point in time, one after another (as per our physical and emotional availability), there's no restrictions on that. ❤
@Hope
Thank you so much for the update
@Hope It definitely make sense! People are not aware how much multiple roles and programs can lead in burnout, and think they will be fine.
It's part of the learning experience to find out how much we can handle. And the academy programs are there to help us in this learning experience, so fix a limit is a good thing.
Even for leadership roles, i throw warnings when i see the people get in too many at once. I encourage to try one, and if they still feel too bored or have a lot time available still while they perform well in their role and after some time consistency, then they can try one more.
The short time of leadership programs doesn't allow to have a good idea if we are comfortable with so much on the long term, so it ends before we should try for more if we are comfortable.
It's not a competition on who is doing the maximum of roles or programs in short term. The quality and wellbeing of volunteers must be a top priority. We want keep them long time as part of our community. We train them to develop their skills more and increase the quality and retention of volunteers. We don't want they burn out before they complete the programs. We care about them. We love them, We want them continue to grow within our community.
@Hope
Thanks for the update!
