I know that if I had this when I was struggling most, it would have helped me very much, and I'd like to think it could do the same for others, so here is a list of hotlines.
In general, hotlines have three things in common:
1) they are available to call 24/7
2) they are 100% confidential
3) they are free

- This list looks very like a list that appeared on PasteBin nearly a year ago. If it's the same list, some of these hotlines might no longer be operating. It's good idea to check a hotline's website before recommending it, or even call it yourself, to be sure it still exists.
- I couldn't find any website for the second one on the list, Post Abortion Counseling. Maybe it has closed down and only exists on old lists? I didn't check the rest.
- Don't assume every hotline is available to call 24/7 without checking its current status on its website. When a hotline loses funding for any reason, it sometimes reduces its hours of operation.
- Don't claim any hotline is 100% confidential unless you're a lawyer and you're certain it's true. Many hotlines operate in states where they are subject to mandatory reporting laws, or they collect information that can be used to trace callers later. Some of them will even call the cops directly at times.
- The latest audience geography report on 7 Cups, published by Amazon (who operate 7 Cups' web servers) shows that only 22.1% of visitors to 7 Cups were from the US. Don't recommend a US hotline number unless you're sure the person is in the US.
