Just wondering how people deal with Chronic Illness
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia almost 2 years ago after a 10-year journey to find out what was wrong with me and now that I have the diagnosis, I am trying to come to terms with the fact that i am never going to be the person I used to be....... A healthy person who can do things physically and not have to worry about whether it will cause me to be in pain the rest of the week. I have lost so much already from this and I don't want to lose anymore, and I am losing hope and that's not where I want to be

It is a double edged sword you knew something was wrong and it takes a long time to finally get a diagnosis. Then after they diagnosis we start feeling of all the things we cannot do....
I have been through something myself and am witnessing it in someone close now their is a grieving process to know to do things it will be different maybe somewhat limited.... then we make a choice to try to adjust and find things we can do on good days or we can as my friend is give up and be miserable simply waiting for either magic or death.. i guess.... makes it hard to be around them
i made the other choice have been living with my issues for a long time but seldom even think about my limits but what can i do to change....
Attitude and mind frame make a big difference

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The Keto diet, minus the yogurt, can do wonders to get us back our energy and have barely any pain.

And putting these powders in water and drink all day: a half tsp of ginger, nutmeg, rhodiola, tulsi, licorice root, & spirulina.
It takes time...that's all I can tell you. No one adjusts to being chronic overnight. Some, perhaps most, never become totally reconciled to their new status. When I got mine (March 2017), it took me most of the year to psychologically work through it. One way is to figure out what you're able to do within your limits. Once you know that, focus on what you can do & don't think about what you can't do, anymore.
It's sure scary, you'll need to take your time for elaborate this, maybe cry about this, and then you will find out that there are some strategy and what they are! Sure at first it will not be that easy, because like diabetic person you have too be carefull in many aspects of your life style, can be frustrating... But your life is not done I swear to you, you can be happy and you will do the thing that want to do! But you have to love yourself, your mind, your body and remember that you'are rooting for you always, even when you are mad at you because it's an hard day and you can't walk <3
@willingBlackberry3456 hi sweetie ❤ I don't have a chronic illness exactly. But I'm a double amputee, it's crazy how our lives can change so drastically due to disabilities/illness. I'm in constant pain like you are, but for different reasons of course. But don't loose hope, don't focus on what you can't do focus on what you can. Do things that bring you joy, enjoy the small things and take it day by day. I know it takes a huge toll on your mental health too🙁 but please know your not alone, and you can do this ❤ hugs you tightly, I'm here for you ❤
Friend,
Uou are not alone. Many people lose their health and then many recover their health.
You just keep living and as much as possible. Don’t let it build a wall between you and your heart’s desire for your life. Most people by a certain age are living with a chronic health issue. For me, I was diagnosed with incurable cancer at 29. Now, so many years later, I’m still alive and though I deal with diminished health because of the treatment, I mostly don’t let it stop me.
You make the choice as the how this illness will define you and how much space it will occupy in your life.
In the meantime, consider radical elimination diets such as Ket or Carnivore. Many people with chronic auto immune illnesses have regained their health.
sending you my very best wishes.
