1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups? I think hosting discussions where people are discussing topic that are important to them is really rewarding.
2) What do you like to see in a listener? I like to see a person that is open to listening without judgement or with the idea they can solve my problems. I will probably have problems all my life, but they usually are not solved. I find ways to cope with them.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups? I look forward to seeing all the people in 50+ who support the forums and the discussions. They are people I really enjoy being around.

@soulsings
What great answers to start us off, Soul! I loved all of your answers. You had the best anwer that I have ever heard said about a listener. Interesting and so well said.
@soulsings
Actually, that's the one thing I dislike about listeners the most, how so many of them are relunctant to share ideas about things they have found helpful or things they have learned along the way. I don't expect anyone to solve my problems. That's my job. But I come here for some help and guidance and not for a pat on the head, or to be told, "Oh that sounds tough; good luck with that. I hope you figure that out." That is just sooooo frustrating to me.
Thanks for this great post soul!
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups?
I love being a moderator here on the site. To me the most rewarding experience is when people feel a little better and have a take-away from the discussion.
2) What do you like to see in a listener?
A listener should be kind and welcoming and try the best they can to understand the issue in question and offer alternative ways to see challenges if needed.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups?
I look forward to see anybody here, whether it is a member I'm chatting to or someone coming into the discussions in 50+ or mindfulness.
@amiablePeace77
HI ami,
What loving-kindness all of your answers showed. That is what you are all about and it comes through so much with all you do here!
@Amelia2324
Thank you <3
Every time I read your answers I see lots of compassion and kindness.
@soulsings
Soul, thanks for all you do and for all the others in the forums do also.
So feel free to share your story of how you felt appreciated or how you appreciate others or the community as a whole.
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups? Two things: getting connected with my therapist and getting connected with the forums/community and the so many wonderful things offered by and through it.
2) What do you like to see in a listener? definitely maturity, old enough to have plenty of life-experiences, knowledge of psychological problems, maturity and responsibility to communicate back and forth with you in a well, reasonable manner
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups? I'm not good with actual names, but, @amiablePeace77, @soulsings, lots of people in the mindfulness community, some people in the 50+ community, some people in the gratitude/positivity community. Also, the pop-up rooms for the 50+ with their great topics and the pop-up rooms for the mindfulness community, also with the great things presented in there. And, of course, my therapist, with the little bit of time I will still be able to have her.

1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups?
Playing word games
2) What do you like to see in a listener?
I haven't tried talking to a listener yet, but I would like to. I see those things on the website that say "Talk to a Counselor" but I don't know what to expect so I've never tried it. I'm too scared.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups?
There's no one in particular.

@WharfRat
I can understand that it feels kind of strange to talk to someone you do not know but sharing can help to put down some of the burden you might be carrying. I hope you find the right listener for you You're always welcome to pm me too.
Nice that you enjoy the word games
@soulsings My best experiance at 7cups is attending the discussions especially at 50plus and mindfulness. I also attend some at positivity and gratitude and disability. It really helps my day! I look foward to seeing all of the wonderful moderators and members in these discussions!
@soulsings
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups?
Meeting with my long-term appointment listener is a caring different approach to therapy that allows both thoughtful analysis. Although that experience is what brought me here, there is much more that I have enjoyed.
2) What do you like to see in a listener?
Sincere personal interest. A willingness to be a real person and move off-script. I much prefer opinions I don't necssarily agree with over responses that are slightly beyond AI.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups?
Lychee, whose name I have lost so I cannot tag. @empathicZebra7581 my favourite listener who has become my friend, and notifications saying that my forum posts have encouraged someone.
@soulsings
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups?: Well the best experience I have had is becoming a chatroom mod and doing discussions. I recently became a global moderator as of a day ago and it's been fantastic.
2) What do you like to see in a listener?: Non judgemental, professional and kind.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups?: Seeing my fellow listeners and members.
@soulsings
I don't post to the 50+ forum much anymore, being involved in SC and other things around 7Cups including recently becoming a Room Supporter :) but here are my responses to your great questions!
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups? Getting to know some of the admin and leaders, as well as skilled Listeners, has been the best experience so far.
2) What do you like to see in a listener? I would want someone with life experience, as well as emotional maturity, who is able to hold their own opinions, values etc intact, while being open to learning from me, and of course, challenging me to expand, grow and learn through whatever matter for which I am seeking support.
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups? I like to see many familiar names in Sharing Circle, and say "hey" to them, while also remembering to welcome unfamiliar names and newbies because I was once a newbie fumbling my way through this vast space. :)
1) What is the best experience you have had at 7cups? Meeting people from all over
2) What do you like to see in a listener? compassion, honesty, nonjudgmental
3) Who do you look forward to seeing when you come onto 7cups? A couple of people. Not like when SYS existed or 35+ before all the room changes last year
