What was the best thing that happened for you in January?
@amiablePeace77
think it was coming to see not all mental health workers out to harm us and not listen to what we saying. we had some who even pushed us back into abuse of our family others who said there was no way we still be alive if what we was saying about our abuse was true. so this lead to not trusting mental health workers. but here on 7cups we found the most caring one working in mental health. we still have trust issues but some are getting better too.
@stormieandpaws
I can only imagine the despair and hopelessness you've been feeling by having been pushed back right into the situation where you experienced abuse when reaching out for help. It's understandable that you find it difficult to trust people now, but I hope that your trust in people will be restored with the help of this site. You might take some time and that's okay, we are here for you 💙
@amiablePeace77 I'm not of the age of 50 and over but hopefully it's okay that I respond to the question too lol.
The best thing that happened to me was Saturday 02/1/2025 I went to see a local band that I am a fan of at a brewery near where I live and before they started the second or last set of playing, one of the guitar players expressed that they as a band had an announcement to make and in front of 100 people at least, pointed at me and expressed gratitude for my support and how I've attended every show of theirs 🥺 and then continued to say the next song was for me..which was an original song that I know all the lyrics too.
I've seen SO many bands and singers since I was a teenager and NEVER in my life have I had this experience before. I was so touched that I couldn't even focus on the song they were playing because it was honestly such a nice compliment. It's something I will never forget.
