I'm old.  I have a torn Achilles tendon and a broken rib.  My mower won't run.  I feel terrible.

Hi, Sunshine,

These are a lot of questions.

1. How do you feel now that we're halfway through the year? Are you happy with what you've done so far?  My life is almost always bad, so I am always happy  to see time pass.  Am I happy with what I have done so far?  I didn't off myself when I wanted to.  I guess I am happy with that because I follow my Lord God's rules.
2. When you look back at the last six months, what things do you remember the most? Why are they important to you?  I remember my car being shot while parked in the parking lot where I live and receiving $1600 in damage.  I also know I got through my second semester of graduate school.  They are both major events.
3. How do you handle it when you wish you'd done something differently? What helps you move on and look ahead?  I feel bad and try to learn from the incident.  That helps me move on.  I also have long gone things that I wish I had done differently and there is nothing I can  do about it.  I don't know why, but I am learning to just forgive myself and let it go.
4. Can you think of a time when something messy turned out to be beautiful in the end? What happened?  No
5. What does it mean to be strong, especially when things aren't going well? rely on inner strength and beliefs in a higher power
6. How will you change your approach for the rest of the year, based on what you've learned so far?  Move to a decent apartment community and hang in there in school...provided I find a job.  If I can't find a job, that is the end of my education for now.
7. Describe the greatness of a person you cared about this year and have lost for various reasons. How do you cope with that loss? I had a boss in  my last job who was so nice and interesting.  She was so different and I loved that about her.  She was a great boss and I wanted her to be my friend.  But because of her decision, she and I lost our friendship after my work there ended.  I just let her go.  I know it wasn't meant to be.  But writing about this brings tears to my eyes.

I lost teachers I knew and it is hard to get used to the fact that death is a natural part of life. Many people in my high school class have died. It is strange to see an obituary and realize that someday that will happen to me. IT motivates me to make the best of my life that I can.
