Today started okay...and then it was not.

Does anyone ever recover from ptsd?

or do they learn to just live with it.?

I'm late to this post but I hope that you're having a better day today, and that this day is one of your stronger ones 💗 I recently read the Body Keeps the Score, which my therapist recommended to me. It's a a very in depth read but it's a very valuable read that might be a good tool for you as you go through this. Please know you don't go through it alone.

I have read the book too and have a copy.  I found it really helpful too.  The author is also on YouTube where he explains some of the same

Hi there, actually I learned from a psychiatrist that quite a few people recover from PTSD with time by themselves or when they have a supportive environment...others need psychiatric help to improve and some others never improve and at times get worse, so everyone is different I guess.

I myself was told I had PTSD years ago but I think I have improved alot.  I no longer have panic attacks - rarely anyway and I am better able to do things than I could.  I think it is possible to improve and even being clear of it.  The main things that I have found helpful are meditation and self reflection, self development and improvement (if these things happened again how could I better deal with these situations), leading a healthy lifestyle and improving my health and nutrition, finding purpose and meaning in what happened and how it relates to my life purpose, turning to God and religion for support and also trying to regain trist abd have supportive people around me.  Mindfulness is also very helpful I have found to keep my mind in the present and reminding myself where I am and what I am doing now as supposed to then...I hope this helps and I hope you can improve and even being cured.

My God help and support you

@zeetee17 Many people, unfortunately, suffer from PTSD. It's not easy although there are different ways to cope with it. The solution is finding the best copying mechanism because the same methods do not work for everyone. I know it's hard to believe but days will get better. I am here if you need to talk.
