What do single people do to make friends ?

I haven’t been able to make a single real friend since moving here about eight years ago. Only “friends“ made his work friends and as soon as I got let go or whatever from the job I never hear from them again.

@D86 You have trouble making friends? That's the same situation that I am in, I can't make friends at my school. But I hope that you can find friends soon, I would recommend going to social events and just socializing w/ others, see if any one of them have the same interests as you, then you can go from there.

The problem is I can’t even find the people to socialize with in the first place. Any “social events” I go to end up being groups of people that already know each other and end up being lonely at them too. I’m not good at jumping in with groups of people that are already friends with each other
