Hey

JustCory88 August 23rd

Does anyone ever feel like they're actually doing it right?

Ha! What timing! I've just watched a video (Alain de Button) in which he explained his opinion that we are being harmed by the modern idea that we need to do everything right. That in the past, people recognised that everyone was flawed and luck had a large part in what happened to you. He said that now people tend to believe that your outcome depends on how hard you try, and if you fail, it must be because you have done something wrong. This resonates with me. I often think like this.

But who says that there is a right way to do it? How can anyone know how to live your life better than you? Can we start trusting ourselves that we are doing what's right for us?

I find practicing a little gratitude for the little things, helps me realise that I'm doing OK. And doing OK is actually good enough for me.

I'm grateful for the clean water in the glass beside me.

I'm grateful for the fresh air I'm breathing.

I'm grateful to have the time to read your post.

Thanks for the well timed and thought provoking post. I hope you do OK today.

Great response. Things like this prove we're all connected, doesn't it? It's more of me looking back and thinking I could have done this better. It's a bad habit of mine I'm sure if I did it as I saw best i would still be able to find ways I could have done it better.

I love learning. In fact, I think I'd get bored pretty quick if I wasn't learning something new. And that includes learning about myself. So "what could I have done better?", is a question I also often find myself asking.

But its good to notice that thus question doesn't leave much room for "I did my best". Which is actually, always true. So I'm trying to practice asking myself "what could I have done differently?". So that I can learn about alternatives. Because of course, what is right in one situation, may not be right for the next.

Although, having read comment by @sparkyGismo below, I might now change that to  "what did I do right, and then, what could I have done differently?", because I couldn't agree more that it is important to celebrate our successes.

Is it weird that I'm trying this online option and now looking at how I approach others, even in a grammer form? It's crazy, but particularly true. My father is a English major from a baby boomer.

After of course I post , I see more editing options after the gast of understanding that I'm pretty sure this is my first "tweet". God help me.

@Kboland

Your first post? 🥳

Welcome!

Do I detect a little anxiety? I know I was so so anxious making my first post. So I think it would be quite normal.

Can I share a little devilish reassurance? 😉

This isn't twitter, so you are in luck, this isn't your first tweet. Furthermore, twitter no longer exists, so you are saved from ever having to make a tweet. Hurrah!

But, tweet or no, we are very happy to have you and anything you wish to post. Sharing, so we are not alone, and understanding each other, are fabulous gifts, so do join in the conversation. Or start your own.

What were your thoughts on grammar?

Beautiful response my friend! 😊 ❤️ *bows in front of greatness* 💡 We have much to learn from you!

You may be more evolved, closer to "self actualization", loss of the ego, etc. Either way, this was amazing to witness/read. I am most grateful! ❤️ Thank you for sharing of yourself with all of us today!

*high fives* 😊 and *hugs* ❤️

Wow! What praise indeed from someone who most definitely has helped me in finding direction on my path!

As I say, I think it was just lucky timing. But I'm very pleased, nonetheless.

I think when you feel that, you stop adapting and become stagnant. Simply the laws of entropy

Right on what?. Can you be more specific?

Rarely. Lol

i really really do feel like i'm doing it right the more i work on myself, but i know i can't be complete without a partner, so i can't fix my pain.
