Meditation has kind of been a up and down journey with me.

I think the hardest part is the consistency.

But, when I do practice it, I definitely feel a bit lighter!

How has your experience with it been?💜

Yes totally agree with you. I am struggling too in consistency. I had experienced the benefit of it still i am not able to make it regular practice even if i try joining 7 day challenges or 28 days challenge that take place online through mail.

Even sometime i struggle the emotions i feel after doing it.

What emotions or experience you feel after doing it ?

I feel less anxious and more "in the moment" if that makes sense.

There is always mindfulness or yoga to try out also! I feel they are quite similar in some ways!

I get into isolation zone. My friend said it temporary.

But i feel bit confused feeling isolated as it opposite to my personality. Haha

Yeah benefit of meditation is amazing.

Really appreciate your input. Keep posting if something u feel to share in future.

@RelicCube

I like the mindset of keep trying and doing it once a day. You have some way of motivation inside.

Consistency is difficult. I’m 2 years into it after taking an MBSR course, and I used to do 30 mins every day. With my new work schedule I’m at about 15 mins 2-3 times a week. I think I feel the difference between the two, but I’m trying to not focus on that and just let it be what it is right now. Keep pushing!! take advantage of the time when you are able to, and don’t be hard on yourself when there is less time for it.

About 5 years ago, very soon after my mental breakdown, I was meditating using the headspace app, and I got a rush of emotion and thought and "clarity". I wrote down two full pages of all the things that went wrong in my life. I'm otherwise a terrible writer and it would takes me months to write out what I wrote out that day in maybe 15 minutes.

@asdoza

Your experience is something new to read. I wish I could feel clarity of thought and emotions.

I usually feel just like shutting down from everyone and be silent while time.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Cheers. I did put clarity in quotations, because it feel like it's not the right word but I can't think of a better one. I think the clarity that you and I might be after is different. It's a soft and calm clarity, grounded and at peace. This was more more of a anxious clarity, or an abrupt realization. Though the experience helped me dump a bunch of thoughts on paper, I'm not sure it's something I'd desire for either of us long term.

And I also want to shutdown from everyone and be silent :)

For me it was curiosity.

I read about letting go of your thoughts, being the observer. That is basically the bottoming of meditation. But when I first time read about it, it made me so curious that how is it possible.

Then when I was able to 'let go' / 'just observe' / not flow along with the thought that is generated, it feel some pressure on my head.

Which really peaked my curiosity.

Got into it intensely for a few months.

All that was more than a decade ago. Can never able to practice anymore -

I am always a beginner. I try to hold onto the "beginner's mind". I think the biggest hurdle is finding the type of meditation that works for you, that fits who you are and what your schedule is like. Experiment. I found that mindful breathing works best for me. I learned it from a book called "Full Catastrophe Living" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. I like that there is no wrong way to do it. I like that the practice is the practice. I find it tough to "breathe deeply" or do any of those relaxation breathing strategies like box breathing or whatnot. I can literally get breathless trying to follow the rules of how long to inhale, how long to exhale. It's not for me. I just breathe like a breathe and simply pay attention to it. Distractions come and that's not failing. There is no wrong way to do it.

Best of luck on your journey. 🌻

Hi, i have been practicing meditation for more than 25 years and it has done miracles to me specially that i started it after NDE.

from experience most people get the none commitment due to over doing it, i mean trying to take long time to get the max of it, and all you need to get into the meditation state and work on elongating it, once you master the freeing of mind from thoughts which what you need to focus on first you will be able to do it anywhere, bus, train, work, home or before sleeping.

i hope you find this useful.
