I am a 65 year old married father and grandfather. 

I have seen pain, received grace. 

Wondered why. Felt assured.  Hurt those I love. 

Been forgiven and have forgiven the same. 

My favorite word is the Hebrew word Chesed. 

For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes:
and I have walked in thy truth. (Psalm 26:3 KJV).

A word variously translated as "mercy," "lovingkindess," "steadfast love," "compassion," and even "goodness". It is one of the thirteen attributes of God that the Jewish sages derived from the study of God's revelation to Moses (see Exodus 34:6-7).

...See more Hospitality.  This is a lost and near useless word.  It has come to mean some who is gifted in setting a nice table.  To our parents, it was "Marth Stewart" (before she went to prison).  To connect with its origin, it used to describe a person who was willing to attend to you--even on your deathbed, and even at risk of becoming exposed to your illness and death.  Hospitality used to be a word of ridiculous courage and self-sacrifice for the good of another.  "Hospitality is the caring for that shared space. The hospitable person is making the assertion that when we live or meet together in that space, sometimes permanently and sometimes only momentarily, we strive to keep that space, whether pubic or private, inviting and welcoming." (Arthur Sutherland.  I was a Stranger: A Christian theology of Hospitality.)
