Remember to take a break every 3-4 hours at least. Get up, stretch, walk around, or even just browse the net, find something that gets you away from your work. Also look for signs that your over worked like being very preoccupied with only your work, sleeping very little due to work, broken sleep, stressing about work or going back to work, etc.

It's important to ask yourself questions such as, are you able to keep yourself healthy? Do you have the time to eat well, stay hydrated, even work out? This includes the time it takes to prepare healthy meals and shower. Are you spending a fulfilling amount of time with friends and family? Do you have enough time to spend on your hobbies? Sometimes people do have to work more than is healthy in order to support themselves and their families, but ideally you should have enough time to be healthy as well as work.

Consider taking a step back and analyzing how you spend your time. If you suspect you're spending too much time working, ask yourself if the time you spend working is preventing you from spending time on the other things that really matter to you in life. Are your grades suffering as a result of an imbalanced work/life schedule? What about your relationship with your friends, your kids, or your family? Once you recognize the imbalance in time management in your life, you can begin to think about how to adjust how you spend your time to fix it, and restore balance.

The best way to ensure that we're not overworking is to take self-care breaks. Too much work can cause us to feel burned out (i.e. a state of exhaustion and frustration). Taking simple small self-care breaks like taking a walk, a short nap, stretching, five minutes meditation, drinking a glass of water etc. makes sure that our body gets time to replenish itself.
