Oh wow. I just happen to see this & I have to post!! I have had 2 job interviews this week alone. So far, nothing. I got a call for another interview Friday, I am contemplating on even going. I get myself prepared. Get all dressed up. Then try to find the positive energy to sell myself to these people. Just to get a Dear Jane email or letter. I have been unemployed for 4 years now. At what point am I unemployable? How do I keep the positive energy flowing? So far I've managed. My husband is awesome. I am lucky there. But sometimes it can be so debilitating. :(

Even though you didn't get the jobs, you've gained experience for future interviews. It's tough finding a job, but remember that you made it to the interview process, and that in itself is an amazing accomplishment. Don't be afraid to reapply and keep trying. It takes time, but you already have come so far. Keep up the good work.

Remember that your feelings are real, but they are not necessarily true. It's natural for the mind to sometimes wander into areas of self-criticism and negativity especially when we are in the vulnerable position of interviewing for jobs. It's important that we realize there are many looking for that same job, and many will have equal skills and experience. And it's also important not to jump to conclusions about why you did not get the job(s) you applied for. Just do your very best and look ahead to the next opportunity. Perhaps it will be even better than the previous ones you have applied for! What you need most right now is a positive outlook and to be your own best friend. Surround yourself with positive people, talk about your struggle with a compassionate family member, friend or a 7Cups listener for support. It's a big world, and you are not alone. Many others are feeling or have felt discouraged during the often long and emotionally triggering job search. And talking about it can really help lighten the load.
