Sometimes the culprit is a restless mind. In my case I was unable to quiet the thoughts in my head, i'd just stay up all night thinking. Melatonin has helped, as well as meditation.

Insomnia is exhausting. We try to catch up on the body's need for sleep in daytime hours, but it is not of the same quality due to our circadian rhythm.

Sometimes if you have depression or you are stressed over something it messes with your sleeping patterns, ive had this happen many times to me before but there is ways you can stop it.i got on medication, if you dont want perscribed medication you can get more natural medications that dont require prescriptions. You may have a sleeping disorder, but im not a doctor... so make sure you do talk to your doctor about this. I hope this was a bit helpful (:

There could be a number of reasons why you may find it hard to sleep at night but not during the day. Personally, I've found that maintaing good sleep hygiene helps me sleep better at night, but it is always good to check with a professional to make sure everything is ok.

Because you're sleeping during the day so you're not tired enough to sleep at night. duuh! xD
But no for real now if you have a crappy diet you're gonna feel sleepy after eating lunch (something about eating too much or to less of what your body needs and getting your body into 'digestion mode'..)

It is possibly due to the way your biological sleep clock is set, in order to reset this do not sleep in the day and only try and sleep at night, eventually your body clock will reset. It is also possible that you are suffering from insomnia and a doctor would be able to provide more information/help.
