I find that the heat and cold cause my scars to itch, I also find that if there is lots of pollen and allergenics around it can inflame them. Also sunburn and exposure.

It has to do with the activiation of nerve fibers by healing tissue. It is perfectly normal and shouldn't be unbareable. if it is, try talking to a doctor about it, because there might be more going on.
