They don't have to. Panic attacks are always overwhelming, but with seeking help comes learning to cope, and if you practice different coping methods, you'll find something that works for you. If it calls for it, medication can also help with this - though it isn't a replacement for coping mechanisms, but rather a compliment to them. With time and a little help, you CAN reclaim your life.

Don't let panic attacks stop you from doing what you like. They can be very overwhelming and feel like the end of the world but panic attacks pass. Breathing deeply and slowly while distracting your mind with pleasant thoughts or an activity you enjoy can make them easier to manage.

If you are feeling emotions or panic attacks that are interfering with your life, the best things to do is to speak with a trained provider such as a counselor or therapist or your healthcare provider to help you sort through your feelings and also to see if perhaps meds can be of use and help you also.

Only if you let them. Panic attacks are hard to get a grip on, and they can feel like they are controlling your life. It takes a lot of effort to get a grip on them, but it is, in my experience, worth it. Getting your life back from the monster that is anxiety makes things so much better.

No, they will not stop you from doing the things you love from your entire life. If you learn to control them, and if you go to therapy and/or take medications, they may lessen. And also, you won't get panic attacks all the time, so you can still enjoy things in life.
