Panic attacks can occur nocturnally and it is indeed, unpleasant. It's possible to have a surge of adrenaline/cortisol at night, which may explain this. If this is concerning you, I would address it with your doctor.

I actually have had the same thing. Really scared me very bad. Our system doesn't always shut down completely with we have anxiety/panic based disorders. You can look up waking up that way, as like waking up from a nightmare.

you turn on the light and look around find 5 things you see 4 you feel 3 you smell 2 you taste When you feel severe anxiety, have a checklist on hand of questions to ask yourself about that anxiety experience. The longer the checklist, the more you'll find that your thoughts become more realistic. Questions that you can use include:Is there a reason to believe something is wrong? What evidence is there that something is wrong? Is there a chance I'm blowing this out of proportion?

It can be caused for a lot of different reasons (such us trauma or fear). You should think about what is triggering it and your feelings. If you think is serious think about talking to some expert. Also anxiety attacks are often mistaken as panic attacks so figure out what is it, usually panic attack last for about 30 minutes and trigger the body’s “flight or fight”. Try to relax before going to bed and think about triggers. If nothing works you should consult an expert. You have my blessings I really hope you will feel better soon... bye 👋

Maybe because of hardly any sleep and stress. That could be one two of the reasons. Whatever would be causing the stress i'd try and fix it.

Everybody is different. There is a no one answer fits all to this question. If this is something that is happening on a regular basis perhaps speaking with a trusted person will help. Or better yet, talking with a counselor or therapist to help sort out your feelings as to why this is happening can be a good option.

It may be because of a dream you were having. Try and clear your mind while trying to fall asleep. Don't let yourself stress over things before falling asleep.
